Project scope
MVV has been appointed to undertake a rear basement extension. The project commenced with architectural and engineering plans, followed by the setup of temporary works and the commencement of ground excavation. The rear extension created additional space for the kitchen, while a small patio was integrated into the rear garden. Velux skylights and traditional style wooden doors were added to the extension, enhancing natural light and creating a flow between the indoor and outdoor spaces. A notable feature of the project is the restoration of an existing old-style kitchen dumbwaiter. The lift was carefully restored to provide direct access to the dining area located on the ground floor. The kitchen and dining area now feature reclaimed herringbone flooring, which was fully sanded and varnished to achieve a balance between an old-world charm and a refreshed, contemporary look.
