Project scope

MVV has been appointed to undertake a loft extension project, adding an extra floor and completing a full high-spec refurbishment. This transformation highlights meticulous attention to detail, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics. The new upper floor is dedicated to an open-plan kitchen and living space, complete with a newly built balcony. The floor features elegant Versailles flooring, openable Velux roof lights, new windows, and a curved wall with fire-rated glass. The downstairs area has been preserved for three bedrooms and two bathrooms, blending modern design with practicality.

From concept to
completion

Stage One:

Feasibility Study & Space Planning

Conducting a feasibility study to assess the space and ensure it meets client requirements and planning, followed by creating a tailored design that maximizes functionality and style.

Stage Two:

Interior Design

Developing the design concept with material and color choices, followed by a comprehensive interior design package complete with visuals to bring the vision to life.

Stage Three:

Strip-Out & Demolition

Erecting scaffolding, removing existing structures and rooms, and taking down the chimney breast to prepare for the new build.

Stage Four:

Erection of the Extra Floor

Building the structural elements for the additional floor, including the new flat roof, and rebuilding the facade and side walls to integrate the new space seamlessly.

Stage Five:

Construction & Finishes

Implementing internal partitioning, installing a new staircase, plumbing, and mechanical systems, followed by decoration, flooring, and the fitting of windows and bespoke joinery elements for a polished, functional finish.

Pro tips from our experts

Loft conversions don’t have to follow the traditional dormer style – with creative design, you can transform the space into a unique, modern retreat that’s full of character and charm.

Tiling

In the bathroom, three different tile styles—straight, herringbone, and checkered—are laid in multiple formats, blending seamlessly to create a unique, elegant space.

Bespoke Bath

The bespoke bathroom features a custom-made integrated bath, designed to provide a sleek, cast-in look, tiled in herringbone style for a sophisticated and modern finish. Every detail is crafted to complement the overall aesthetic while ensuring maximum functionality.
